So, juicy little secret about me. I love yoga. Not the intense kind of yoga that breaks me out in a violent sweat, but relaxing yoga. More like sophisticated stretching. It’s one of my favorite parts in my morning routine. Most days I’m up shortly after 5 AM, when I enjoy the quietness of the morning. I fix some coffee, read my Bible, then grab my yoga mat. I love sipping on my coffee and listening to the soothing voice of the chick on YouTube walking me through a nice morning stretch. One YouTuber I follow just started a 30 day morning yoga challenge. It’s right up my alley….a new…

My Resting Place: Encouragement from Ancient Hymns
Lately the devil has been trying his hardest to get a foothold in my mind. He knows that’s where I struggle and battle, and he knows that if he can plant just a little seed of anxiety or doubt, that it’s pretty certain to bloom into something that will tear me down. And he’s got PLENTY of things to choose from. Just this year we’ve dealt with COVID, a contentious election, civil unrest, and riots. So much unknown. I was encouraged, as my Jesus promises He will do, as I was cleaning the house the other day. A playlist of hymns sung by modern artists was on in the background,…

Lessons From The First Church: Inspiring Excitement For The Gospel
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teachings and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:42-47 Just imagine. You’re a member of…

It’s effected our education system, economy, the way we socialize and celebrate special occasions, and every other part of our lives. I’ve been most interested in the way that the actual physical distancing of human being has affected us. You see, we were created for connection with other people. We weren’t made to live in isolation. It’s all over the Bible….right from the very beginning! From Genesis 1, we see that God created humans in His own image. This was a basic distinction that set us apart from all…

Just Stop and Relax: When Good Habits Get In The Way
“Are you almost done? About ready to just sit down?” My husband asks me this question frequently, wondering when I’ll sit down for another episode of Big Bang Theory with him. You see, my brain clicks away at a dangerously fast pace, running through scenarios, projects, and things that need to be done, as well as the multi step plan to get them done. This skill comes in really handy in certain places, like my job. When I hire people for my team, I look for are those who are able to multi-task and reprioritize at a moments notice. The rest of the job I can teach. But it’s not…
